A Systematic Review of Longitudinal Trajectories of Mental Health Problems in Children with Neurodevelopmental Disabilities

Abstract To review the longitudinal trajectories – and factors influencing their development of mental health problems in children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Systematic methods were employed. Searches six databases used keywords MeSH terms related to disabilities, problems, research. After removal duplicates, reviewers independently screened records for inclusion, extracted data (outcomes factors), evaluated risk bias. Findings tabulated synthesized using graphs a narrative. identified 94,662 unique records, from which 49 publications included. The median publication year was 2015. Children attention deficit hyperactivity disorder most commonly included population retrieved studies. In almost 50% studies, changed by < 10% between first last time point. Despite multiple studies reporting greater conceptual clarity consideration measures research is needed, along inclusion more diverse range populations
